Last night I popped along to the private view of Tim Patrick’s exhibtion ‘Paintings of Light and Quiet’ at Gallery 40 in Brighton’s North Laine. It was a refreshing and inspiring evening’s viewing; compounding my reawakened love of paint. I wont spend too long expounding the many virtues of Tim’s work but instead would encourage everyone to get along there as soon as possible to see some fine examples of contemporary figure painting.

The show finishes on the 5th June, you can read more about Tim on his website: www.timpatrick.co.uk

This weekend will be that last chance to see our Open House ‘Fugitive Ink’ and the new drawings that I have up there, for more information see my earlier post on the House.
This weekend will also see the auction of three pieces of my work (pictured below) at the 5th annual auction of Contemporary Art by Self Representing Artists in Sussex. The brain child of owner of the auction house and celebrated supporter of Sussex Art Nick Toovey the auction has been preceded by an exhibition in Horsham and is possibly one of the best platforms for self representing artists to sell their work in Sussex, spreading the cost of exhibiting between buyer, artist and auction house in a much more balanced way than traditional galleries manage and helping to both empower the artists whilst exposing potential buyers to a broad spectrum of original work. Full details can be found by clicking on the images below.
